Dewi Davies (right) handing over the reigns to new National Park Authority Monitoring Officer John ParsonsPembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority has appointed a new Monitoring Officer.

John Parsons has taken over from Dewi Davies, who had been with the Authority for three years and plans to semi-retire in Ireland. John, a solicitor, lives in Lamphey.

Chairman of the National Park Authority Cllr Simon Hancock said: "The role of a Monitoring Officer is to ensure that the decisions taken by an organisation are lawful and fair. We are very pleased to welcome John to the National Park Authority."

The Cab Safe project - set to be one of the first of its kind in Wales - enables members of the public to text a simple number to receive details of local licensed taxis and private hire firms.

Pembrokeshire's Town Rider services have celebrated their 10,000th journey.
