Saturday 1st April saw 25 members and 6 visitors to the area, meet at Newport Parrog for a 12-mile walk.

The first part of the intended route was flooded by a very high tide, so a diversion was made through part of the built up area, getting back to the estuary at the end of Long Street.

Crossing the Iron Bridge, we continued along the road to Berry Hill Farm before turning into the “Pilgrims Way” footpath to Nevern. Here the 11th century Motte and Bailey Castle was visited where we had a coffee break in the Inner Castle.

From here we dropped down to the Church and then took the footpaths and bridleway to Felindre Farchog.

A short section of the main road was then used to get to the Bridleway at Wenallt, then we continued on to Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber, where we stopped for a lunch break.

Lunch consumed, we took the paths through Ty-Canol Nature Reserve which lead us to Constantinople, Feidr-Cerrig, Gamallt, Cwm Clydach from where we headed back to Newport.

The Pembrokeshire Ramblers' Group was first formed in 1972 and has grown into a flourishing and friendly association of walkers and extend a warm welcome to visitors in this beautiful part of Wales.
