On a bright spring-like morning on 7th March a group of 14 members met at Bedd Morris near Carn Ingli for an eight mile walk led by Chris.

The route circled Mynedd Melyn and then Dinas Mountain. Visibility was good, and views throughout the walk were excellent including Dinas Island and Newport harbour.

Dropping down to Wern Dew, above Fforest, the group then skirted Parc Mawr as they climbed back up to Bedd Morris.

The recent weather had been wet, and this was reflected in the conditions underfoot at times, where 'muddy and wet' was a severe understatement, but the stalwart group coped cheerfully, even when led astray for a couple of hundred yards in mud!!

At the end of a pleasant walk, liquid refreshment was welcome in Newport.
