A group of fifteen Ramblers assembled at Penally Station near Tenby on Saturday 15th September for a ten mile stroll in the glorious late summer sunshine.

The walk started by following the Coast Path northwards along South Beach, but due to the high tide it was then necessary to make the short climb up onto Tenby Esplanade.

After wending their way through a small part of the maze of lanes and alleyways that make up this highly picturesque town, the route took the members of the group further northwards along the Coast Path towards Monkstone Point.

The 'Thousand steps' of Lodge Valley were successfully climbed by all and a welcome lunch break was taken overlooking the sea with views to the Gower.

After lunch the walkers left the Coast Path and looped back inland in the welcome shade of some woodland paths.

On the way the group paused to view the old ruins of Scotsborough House and the massive lime kilns of Kiln Park before returning to South Beach and the short walk back to Penally Station.

The Pembrokeshire Ramblers' Group was first formed in 1972 and has grown into a flourishing and friendly association of walkers and extend a warm welcome to visitors in this beautiful part of Wales.
